Space Hulk Deathwing sounded like a very promising new title set in the Warhammer 40K universe when it was first announced. Unfortunately, performance-wise the game wasn’t exactly stellar at launch and thus ended up receiving quite a bit of criticism when it came on PC late last year. I’m happy to say that the situation has improved somewhat since then thanks to a number of post-launch patches. On that note, now that the game is in better shape developer Streum on Studio has announced that Space Hulk Deathwing is finally ready to launch on consoles later this year.
Initially scheduled for an early 2017 launch on PS4 and Xbox One, the game was later pushed back and is now set to release sometime during Q4 2017. That’s quite a delay, but there’s some good news as well. The console version of Space Hulk Deathwing will be an Enhanced Edition that will include a lot of new content and features. Some of the upcoming additions include new weapons, skills, enemies, as well as a new multiplayer class. Space Hulk Deathwing Enhanced Edition will also feature a full multiplayer progression system, complete with loot and class customization.
In case you’re wondering, all the additional content will also be available on PC. Not only that but Streum on Studio assures PC gamers that the content will be made available for free through a series of upcoming content updates. What’s more, Space Hulk Deathwing has already received a new update earlier today. While it doesn’t include any of the aforementioned content, the new update does bring to the table a new ‘Special Missions’ game mode to multiplayer. These missions are currently only available for Chapter 1 but will be added to all the other chapters further down the road.
